The Haven is a peaceful and relaxed River Lodge,
rated as one of the best accommodation in Jinja region, a perfect hideaway, located at a big rapid on the River Nile. The River lodge lies 8km downstream of the new Bujagali Hydro site and isn't affected by the construction of the dam. Leave all the strains of the town life behind you as you relax and gaze at the gently flowing water of the longest river in the world.
The restaurant and bar sit in the middle of the compound overlooking the mighty river Nile and the waterfall. It lies just between the Camping/midrange area and the luxury area.
When we came across the 'Over Time' rapid, we knew that we had found something rare. The locals are pleased about the development, especially as we work very close together with them. They are immensely friendly and welcoming. We strongly believe in the idea of responsible tourism. It is our belief that the local lifestyle should be kept alive. We do not want irresponsible tourists forcing their beliefs upon the local populace. It is this behaviour that could cause the local villagers to beg. We feel that is your duty not to encourage this behaviour. Therefore, never offer money, sweets and gifts. |
